Maja Nowak: Graduating from her Bachelor’s in International Relations, Maja decided that she wanted to go to the USA to do a training program in the Ritz-Carlton as a rooms division trainee. Below you can read how Hospitality Academy made this possible for her.
Education: Completed Bachelor’s Degree
Future Goal: To be able to work and travel at the same time
In July 2015 I finished my high school diploma. I did not know what to study yet so I decided to do a gap year where I was working for the first 6 months at a café in my city before travelling through South – and Central America for 6 months.
After my gap year I decided to work another year as a waitress at a restaurant in my city before starting my Bachelor’s in International Relations in Kraków.
I started my Bachelor’s in September 2017 and graduated in June 2020. At that time I knew I wanted to go to the USA to work and travel before finding a job back home in Poland related to my studies.
I learned about Hospitality Academy from a friend and new this was my chance to go and work and study abroad. Even though I did not study hospitality previously I could apply for the J1 Program by signing up to one of their online courses. I started my position at The Ritz Carlton in mid November and am currently working as a Rooms Division Trainee. I could not have made a better decision!
