Ingredients
  • 250g white flour
  • 1 1/2dl water
  • 3tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2tsp salt
  • 1/4 cube yeast (approx. 10g)
  • 1tsp rosemary
    finely chopped
  • 4 hot dog sausages
  • 1tbsp rosemary
  • 3tbsp ketchup
  • 1/2tsp mild curry powder
How To
  • 1
    For the dough:
Combine the flour and all other ingredients up until and including the rosemary. Knead the mass to form a soft dough. Cover and leave to rise at room temperature for approx. 1 hour.
  • 2
    To shape into snail-like forms:
Divide the dough into 8 similar portions. To make the snail bodies take 4 portions of dough and roll them into thin rolls (approx. 30cm long). Wrap the rolls around the sausages. Divide the remaining portions into thirds, form them into thin rolls. Make 4 neat braided plaits. To make the snail shells, roll up the plaits and place them on the sausage rolls. Put the snails on a grill tray. Cover and grill on medium heat for approx. 20 mins. Insert the rosemary needles into the snail to form tentacles.
  • 3
    For the sauce:
Mix the ketchup and curry powder and serve with the sausage bread rolls.
