Creamy Cabbage Pasta

A delightfully creamy and stupidly easy to make pasta dish that is certain to satisfy your guests. Cabbage might not be the most appealing ingredient for the younger generation but hidden in a delicious sauce it can quickly become one of the new favourites.

Ingredients
  • 200g orecchiette
  • boiling, salted water to cook pasta in
  • 1tbsp olive oil
  • 160g diced bacon
  • 1 onion,
    cut into rings
  • 300g savoy cabbage,
    cut into strips
  • a sprinkle of salt
  • 2dl single cream for sauces
  • a little salt

    Step 1
    For the pasta: Cook the pasta in the salted boiling water for approx. 7 mins until they are al dente. Then drain them and keep 100ml of the water that you used for the pasta.

    Step 2
    For the sauce: Heat the oil in a pan and sauté the onions and bacon for approx. 5 mins. Add the cabbage and salt and stir for another 10 mins. Pour in the cooking water and cream and mix thoroughly. Then, add the pasta, cover and simmer for another 5 mins. Eventually, season with salt and serve the creamy cabbage pasta!
