Baked Apple Recipe with Fruit and Nuts

China sees a increasingly popular tradition arise on Christmas Eve that involves apples. Stores will sell wrapped apples in colorful paper during the holidays so that people can give them to each other as gifts. these apples are referred to as “peace apples” and are meant to bring joy to your acquaintances on an affordable budget. Its rather coincidental, that the Chinese words for Christmas Eve (Ping An Ye) and apple (Ping Guo) sound very similar and that this simple similarity is the reason for this upcoming tradition.

This baked apple recipe takes the tradition a bit further and does not wrap the apples in paper, but bakes the apples in their own juices. It is terribly simple to make and combines this new upcoming tradition with the classic method of baking apples. Surprise your loved one with your very own festive peace apple fresh out of the oven!
