Spicy Scrambled Roti by Gordon Ramsay

He has on top of that conquered one of the most sought-after careers in the entertainment business whilst rejuvenating the art of cooking for everyone to see. His blending of professional cuisine and his outright fascinating personality have granted him a status as a living legend. He is obviously been bestowed with a plethora of awards, has sold millions of books, founded and supported all kinds of charities, and has brought excitement and fun not only into the kitchen, but into the living rooms of everyday families. We are going to introduce you to one of his delicious recipes – the Green Spring Wraps. They are so easy, even if you are not a professional cook you will be able to make them!

Ingredients
  • 5 eggs
  • Black masala
  • Chilli powder
  • Turmeric
  • Pepper
  • 1 small onion or shallot, sliced
  • 1 green chilli, sliced with seeds kept in
  • 1 chopped Roma tomato
  • 1 bunch of green onion, chopped
  • 1 bunch of coriander (Cilantro), chopped
  • 60ml of coconut milk
  • Pickled onions
  • Ghee
How To

    Step 1
    In a hot pan over medium high heat, add 1 tablespoon of Ghee. Once hot, add onions with 1 teaspoon of Pepper, Turmeric and Chili Powder and 1/2 teaspoon Masala. Season with Salt and cook. After cooking for about 1-2 minutes, add Green chili.

    Once almost caramelized, add Tomato to the mixture and cook until everything is caramelized and no water is in the pan.

    As Tomatoes cook, scramble the Eggs in a bowl. When well mixed add 1 teaspoon of Turmeric, Chili powder and 1/2 teaspoon of Masala.

    Once caramelized mixture is cooked, add the egg mixture to pan and mix together. Cook by taking on and off the heat (in the video Gordon doesn’t do this because he lost his heat!).

    As eggs are almost done cooking add a touch of Salt and Coconut Milk and remove from heat. Mix together then top with Coriander and Green Onions and mix it all together.

    Place Roti on plate and top with eggs.

    Garnish with pickled onions!
